Bonus Codes Not Working

Editor: Updated

A rejected bonus code does not always mean the code was typed incorrectly. The offer may have expired, belong to a different account group, require activation before a deposit or conflict with a promotion already in use. The exact error message and the coupon terms are more useful than repeatedly trying the same payment.

Start by saving the message and checking whether any money was charged or credited. Then work through the relevant checks below. For offer categories, see the bonus hub; for the conditions behind a successful coupon, use our player guides.

Three checks before trying again

Check the exact code

Compare the entry with the offer, including digits and punctuation. Look for extra spaces from copying, similar-looking letters and numbers, or an incomplete copied string.

Check the offer version

Confirm the source, stated expiry, casino brand and promotion. A code shared in an old message or on a forum may not match the current offer.

Check the account record

Look for an accepted coupon, an active bonus and any payment attempt. A delayed screen update is different from a code rejected before a deposit.

Keep the actual wording of the error. “Expired”, “not eligible”, “already redeemed” and “another coupon active” suggest different questions. If the message is generic, ask support which condition caused the rejection rather than assuming a typo.

Do not infer eligibility from the code’s marketing name. The offer terms determine the qualifying player, deposit and benefit. A name containing a number does not prove that number is the cash value, and a familiar code from another landing page may have different conditions.

Confirm who the promotion is for

Check whether the coupon is for a new account, a first qualifying deposit, an existing player or a directly invited recipient. These are different eligibility rules. A new-player offer does not automatically become available again because the account has been inactive or the website is opened on another device.

Read restrictions covering country, currency, prior claims and related accounts. A landing page being accessible does not establish that its promotion is available to the person viewing it. Do not change identity details, create another account or use a different location to work around a restriction.

Some existing-player offers are targeted. An offer received by someone else is not necessarily transferable. Our existing-player guide explains why an account’s own promotions matter, while welcome bonuses covers first-offer conditions.

If the system says the code has already been used, ask which redemption record it refers to. An attempted activation and a completed qualifying claim may be treated differently under the terms. Keep the response rather than guessing that another deposit will reset the eligibility.

Check the amount, currency and activation order

A qualifying deposit rule can involve a minimum amount, a particular currency, an eligible payment method and an activation sequence. A bank statement’s total can include charges that are not credited as a casino deposit. Check the credited amount and the offer’s definition of the minimum.

Example: two payments are not always one qualifying deposit

Suppose a hypothetical offer requires a single $20 deposit. Two separate $10 payments would not meet that wording merely because their total is $20. If the terms permit cumulative deposits, that would be a different rule. Confirm the actual coupon before relying on either interpretation.

Ozwin’s published FAQ provides a specific example: it says deposit-match coupons require a single deposit and advises claiming the coupon before depositing. It also identifies an existing active coupon and account eligibility as possible reasons a deposit is not matched. These are operator-specific instructions, not a universal sequence for every casino.

Payment acceptance is another separate question from bonus eligibility. A method can appear in a cashier while being excluded from a particular offer. Use our banking guide to distinguish the payment itself from its promotional treatment.

If a deposit has already been made, retain the reference and ask whether it can be reviewed against the original coupon. Do not assume that a code can be applied retrospectively. For instance, Fair Go’s promotional terms say a bonus must be claimed and received before play with the initial deposit. Check the policy that applies to your account before acting.

An active bonus can block another coupon

Check the account’s current promotion status, not just its cash balance. A coupon may still be active after some of its credit has been used. The terms may restrict simultaneous offers or prevent a new promotion while another process, such as a withdrawal, remains pending.

Before cancelling anything, ask what would be removed. Cancellation may affect unused credit, associated winnings or another balance described in the terms. A button labelled “cancel bonus” does not explain the complete financial effect. Read sticky versus non-sticky bonuses for that distinction.

Do not assume a no-deposit coupon can be claimed repeatedly or immediately after another free offer. Check the redemption history and the specific rule for consecutive promotions. Our no-deposit guide explains the category without treating every advertised code as available to every account.

Code accepted, but the expected benefit is missing

An accepted code and a fully credited promotion are separate facts. Identify which component is missing: the deposit match, a free chip, the spins, or winnings from promotional spins. Save the coupon status and qualifying payment record so support can connect the two.

A package containing a match and free spins can have separate activation or availability rules for each component. Check the named game and whether spins are pending or have been credited there. Do not replace a named game with a different lobby title and assume the same spins will appear.

Also distinguish a spin count from the money won on those spins. A balance that has not increased by the advertised number is not automatically an error: a number of spins is not the same as that amount in cash. Read free spins versus free chips for the difference.

If wagering progress seems wrong after redemption, ask which base and game contribution were used. The wagering calculator can illustrate the calculation, while game restrictions explains why some stakes may count differently.

Separate a display fault from an eligibility problem

A stale screen, interrupted connection or incomplete page load can make an account display confusing. Record the error before refreshing. After a payment attempt, check the transaction history and bank record before pressing the payment button again.

Use the operator’s official website and a supported, updated browser. If a screen looks wrong on mobile, compare the account history rather than assuming that the promotion changes between devices. Our mobile guide covers access on different devices.

Clearing browser data does not change an expiry date, first-deposit status or country restriction. It can also remove useful session information, so it should not be the first answer to every failed coupon. Do not install an unofficial extension or let a stranger control your device to “unlock” a bonus.

Ask support to identify the failed condition

A message you can adapt

“I tried coupon [code] from [offer source] on [date and time]. The exact error was [message]. My relevant account status is [new player or existing player], and the qualifying transaction reference is [reference, if applicable]. Please identify the failed condition, confirm whether the code was activated, and explain whether the original payment can be reviewed before I make any further transaction.”

Include the offer’s stated expiry and a relevant redacted screenshot if useful. Do not send account passwords, one-time codes, full card details or cryptocurrency recovery phrases. Keep the support response with the promotion terms.

If the issue becomes a disagreement about an eligible balance, request the specific clause and calculation in writing. The withdrawal-limits guide helps interpret a cap, and casino complaints covers organising an unresolved case. Aus Casino Guide cannot activate a coupon or change an operator’s account records.

Bonus code troubleshooting FAQs

Why is my casino bonus code not working?

A code can fail because of typing, expiry, account eligibility, an active promotion or a qualifying-payment rule. Save the exact error and check the terms of that coupon before making another payment.

Should I deposit again if the bonus did not appear?

Do not assume a second payment will fix the original problem. Ask support whether the existing deposit qualifies, whether the coupon was activated and what action is required.

Can spaces or punctuation affect a code?

They can affect what is entered. Copy the code exactly and check for leading or trailing spaces, substituted punctuation and similar-looking characters. Follow any stated case requirement rather than guessing.

Does a working offer link guarantee that the code is eligible?

No. An accessible landing page does not confirm that the offer is current or available to your account, country or payment method.

Can I use a new-player code on an existing account?

Only if its terms allow it. A new-player or first-deposit promotion should not be assumed to apply to an account that has already used the relevant eligibility. Do not open a duplicate account to claim it.

Can two smaller deposits meet one minimum-deposit requirement?

Only if the promotion explicitly allows that calculation. A rule requiring a single qualifying deposit is not automatically satisfied by adding separate payments together.

What if another bonus is already active?

Ask whether the promotions can coexist and what cancelling the current one would remove. Do not cancel it without understanding the effect on the existing credit and winnings.

Why did the match bonus appear but not the free spins?

The components may have different activation, game, timing or qualifying conditions. Ask whether the spins are pending, credited to a named game or unavailable under the specific offer.

Can I fix a coupon problem by clearing browser data?

A browser refresh may help a display issue, but it does not change eligibility, expiry or promotion terms. Save the error and check the account’s coupon history before treating the issue as a browser fault.

What should I send support about a failed code?

Provide the code, offer source, error text, time, account status relevant to eligibility and any qualifying transaction reference. Ask what failed and whether the original transaction can be reviewed. Do not send passwords or full payment credentials.
